Wiwitan rice harvest.

The rice fields in the rice fields have turned yellow, farmers in the DIY region will feel happy to harvest it soon. However, before the first clump of rice was cut down, they did not forget to express gratitude by holding the traditional harvest time.

 This tradition is also carried out by dozens of farmers in Tanjungharjo village, Nanggulan sub-district, Kulonprogo, who are members of the Tanjung Lestari Farmers Group Association, last Tuesday (7/1/2014). The wiwitan ritual is carried out as an expression of their gratitude for the harvest which cannot be said to be bad.
